Summit Fencing finds state work it never knew was posted
A Virginia fencing company bid on federal notices and nothing else, because the state portal was a chore. Captivaq reads Virginia eVA alongside SAM.gov, and the state work now arrives on the same list.

Summit Fencing installs security and perimeter fencing for bases, depots and public facilities across Virginia. Terrence Hill runs it with two crews and his brother on the estimating.
The federal work found the company through SAM.gov alerts. The state work, posted on Virginia eVA, did not find it at all.

One portal, half the work
The Virginia portal needed its own search, its own login and its own way of describing a fence. Terrence checked it once, found nothing under fencing, and never went back.
Meanwhile state agencies were posting perimeter security, gate replacement and guardrail work every month, under words that did not include the one he had searched.
“We were leaving half the state on the table because the website was annoying.”
Both portals, one profile
Captivaq reads Virginia eVA the same way it reads SAM.gov, so the setup was the profile and nothing else. Terrence listed the fence types, the security clearances the crews hold and the counties they cover.

The first week's shortlist had three state notices and one federal. Two of the state ones used the word perimeter, and neither would have come up under fencing.
State and federal on one list
The Monday summary now carries both feeds. Terrence reads it with his brother, picks the ones worth an estimate, and the requirement list is already pulled when they open the package.

Summit has won two state contracts this year, both for work it would never have searched for. The federal alerts still come, and they are no longer the only thing that does.
